He / They
I am a multidisciplinary artist living and working in the inner west of Melbourne/Naarm, on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation.
I make human art.
Imperfect, full of emotion, singular.
I work primarily with traditional mediums. I paint with oils and acrylics on stretched canvas. Prints are from my small home studio press. Textile pieces start with repurposed materials and details are added by hand. I take photographs with both film and digital cameras. I find technology to be a useful tool, and I choose to exist online, but I opt out of AI features when it pervades necessary technology. There is no place for AI in my work. Any creation made by a living being has more artistic value than anything generated.
Art is an intrinsically human experience. Like feelings, thoughts, dreams, fears. My work reflects this. Despite my efforts to do something with my time that leads to greater financial stability, creating is what I always return to.
Yeah, human art.
